Hi ~Contact.FirstName~, Welcome to the July issue of the Happy Home Gazetteā¢! Summer is in full bloom and we're deep into the dog days of summer! We've all heard the saying "You only get one chance to make a good first impression." Proudly showing off your home's exterior gives the impression that it's loved inside and out. We're sharing some very simple, cost-effective ways to spruce up your home's curb appeal. We've also included a recipe for a grilled watermelon and shrimp salad to lighten up your summer fare. It's an unusual – but delicious – combination. We hope you and your family enjoy a fabulous summer! ~Contact._ContractorSpokesperson~ |

Here are some projects you can do this weekend to give your home the boost it needs. 1. Lawn Maintenance. Start by cleaning up your yard. Kill any weeds poking through the cracks in the driveway and walkway, and give those surfaces a good power spray. 2. Windows. Clean windows inside and out so they sparkle and shine. Make sure the window coverings used on the interior are not distracting from the exterior. 3. Gutters and Downspouts. Make sure all your gutters and downspouts are clean and tightly connected. If they're in need of repair, you may need to replace them. 4. Paint. If the paint on your house looks gray, cracked and weathered, then it's time for a fresh coat of paint. 5. Landscaping. Adding shrubs, flowers or container gardens add instant impact to your front yard. 6. Details. Draw attention to your entryway by adding some decorative molding. 7. Lighting. If your front entry fixtures are worn, cracked or rusted, replace them. 8. Hardscaping. If you have a front porch, arbor or trellis, make sure they are in pristine condition, and paint or stain the wood to make it look like new. |

Ingredients
Directions 1. In a medium bowl, toss together the tomatoes, radishes and parsley. 2. In another small bowl, whisk together the shallots, Dijon mustard, oil, lemon juice, and salt and pepper. Pour half of this mixture over the tomatoes, then cover and chill. Pour the other half of the mixture over the shrimp as a marinade. Chill the shrimp for 30 minutes. 3. Heat an indoor or outdoor grill to medium high. Add the watermelon slices and grill until you see grill marks on both sides, about 10 minutes total. Remove from the grill and set aside. 4. Place the shrimp on the grill and sear until shrimp are opaque with grill marks. 5. The watermelon will be very watery, so pat dry before assembling. 6. Place the grilled watermelon on a platter, top with shrimp and tomato-radish relish. Serve immediately. |
